Arsène Wenger is not concerning himself with who Arsenal get in Friday's Champions League draw because he knows a lot can change between now and February.
The draw in Nyon will pit Wenger’s side against one of Real Madrid, Barcelona, Bayern Munich and Schalke, but Wenger is refusing to be drawn on who he would prefer to face.
The Spanish giants are dominating La Liga while the two Bundasliga outfits are struggling domestically with Schalke as far down the table as tenth under new manager Felix Magath.
However, the German’s will enjoy the comforts of a winter break and with Bayern’s Arjen Robben set to be back to his best in the new year they could be a completely different proposition in a couple of months.
“There are advantages and disadvantages on both sides," he said. "The Germans have a good break in the winter and are fresh in spring.
“The Spanish teams are a bit more favourites at the moment but that can change in two months.
“The difficulty might be more or less but it is part of the draw. We will have to consider what we get and we will see that tomorrow.
“We take the draw as it is and I do not want to put my team in a position where they feel they have had bad luck or would have preferred somebody else.”
